Habitat: Riparian forests

Weichholzau

In the lower reaches from Reutte onwards, it is mainly the softwood meadow that grows. In addition to willows, grey alder grows here. Due to the flat terrain, but also due to the construction, calmer sections of the river occur. During floods, sand and fine soil in particular are washed up. This creates good conditions for a true grey alder forest to develop. The Grauerlenau is a highly endangered habitat.
