Herb witches Daniela and Tanja in the

Steeg Nature Park School

On 20 November, two herb witches visited the children of the Nature Park School in Steeg.

In 2 lessons each, the 29 children of the 1st/2nd and 3rd/4th grades made herbal salt and a tea mixture from medicinal herbs under the guidance of the ladies. Daniela and Tanja brought the ingredients, glasses, tea bags, ... with them. They smelled, tasted and felt. With great eagerness and enthusiasm, each child mixed their own salt and tea. When labelling the glasses, which each child was allowed to take home, their imagination was given free rein. This is how "miracle tea", "strength tea", "courage salt", "good night tea", etc. were created.

The herb witches promised to come again in spring to cook with herbs. Schoolchildren and teachers are already looking forward to it!

We are a nature park school!

We now also welcome the Steeg primary school as a "Nature Park School"! The award was presented by Franz Handler, Managing Director of the Association of Nature Parks Austria, at a ceremony on 28 April 2019.
In the packed hall, politicians, guests of honour, the nature park team, parents, grandparents and many others were carried away by the festive atmosphere.
With song and poetry, the children of the Steeg Nature Park School focused on their understanding of nature and inspired reflection, but also amazement.
We look forward to a successful and friendly cooperation in the future!
